Continuous Improvement In Manufacturing  (Lean Production) - PT20

Course Description

This course provides delegates with an overview of world class manufacturing practices. The principles covered are applicable to a wide range of personnel including process operators, team leaders engineers, managers, non-manufacturing staff, etc. Delegates are familiarised with a wide range of tried and tested tools and techniques which really work if correctly applied. Most of these tools and techniques are relatively simply to learn and use.

A key feature of this course is the high degree of participation by delegates. PROJECT DESCRIPTION

During the early stages of the course, delegates will be asked to identify a project usually in their own work area which they will undertake in order to make an improvement. The chosen project is agreed within their organisation as being suitable, and the organisation are expected to support the delegate to ensure the project is completed. The aim is to complete the project within several weeks and so the scope should be appropriate for this time frame. A project supervisor, often the course tutor, is assigned to each project and will visit each delegate as required in their work area during the project period to provide any additional support or advice theat may be needed. On completion, the delegate is encouraged to share the results of their efforts by giving a brief presentation to interested parties including the course tutor. A brief project report is also expected to provide a record and enable the course tutor to evaluate the project.

TMS certification is awarded for course attendance, additionally, a further certificate is awarded to attest to successful completion of the project.
